Accessing Payment Methods
Payment method management is part of your billing settings:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Scroll to the Payment Methods section
Your Payment Methods
Each saved payment method displays:
- Card brand — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.
- Last 4 digits — For easy identification (e.g., •••• 4242)
- Expiration date — Month and year the card expires
- Default badge — Indicates which card is used for recurring charges
Adding a Payment Method
- Click Add Payment Method
- A secure form appears (powered by Stripe)
- Enter your card number, expiration date, and CVC
- Click Add Card to save
Secure: All payment information is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Framework never stores your full card details — only the last 4 digits and brand are saved for display purposes.
Setting a Default Card
Your default payment method is used for all recurring subscription charges, add-on purchases, and overage billing.
To change your default card:
- Find the card you want to use as default
- Click Set Default
- The card is now marked with a “Default” badge
Note: The “Set Default” button only appears on non-default cards. Your current default card shows the badge instead.
Removing a Payment Method
To remove a payment method:
- Click the trash icon next to the card you want to remove
- Confirm the removal
Important: You cannot remove your default payment method while you have an active subscription. To remove it, first set a different card as default, then remove the old one.
Expired or Declining Cards
If your default payment method expires or a charge is declined:
- You’ll receive an email notification about the failed payment
- Your subscription may enter a “past due” state
- Add a new card or update your existing card details to resolve the issue
- The payment will be retried automatically
To prevent interruptions, keep your payment method up to date and add a backup card if possible.
