Asking Questions

Framework understands plain English questions about your construction documents. You don’t need special syntax, keywords, or boolean operators — just ask naturally.

How to Ask

  1. Open a conversation (new or existing).
  2. Type your question in the message input at the bottom.
  3. Press Enter or click the send button.

What You Can Ask

Framework can answer questions about any content in your uploaded documents:

  • Specification requirements — “What is the concrete strength for foundations?”
  • Material details — “What type of roofing membrane is specified?”
  • Code compliance — “What are the fire rating requirements for stairwells?”
  • Scope clarification — “What’s included in Division 09 finishes?”
  • Cross-referencing — “Compare the structural steel requirements in the spec vs. the drawings.”
  • Summaries — “Summarize the mechanical scope of work.”
  • Finding details — “Where is the waterproofing detail shown?”

Follow-Up Questions

The AI remembers the context of your conversation, so you can ask follow-up questions without repeating yourself:

  • “What about the reinforcement requirements for that section?”
  • “Are there any exceptions?”
  • “What does the drawing show for that detail?”

Best Practices

  • Be specific — “What is the specified concrete strength for grade beams?” works better than “Tell me about concrete.”
  • Reference document types — “According to the specifications, what…” helps the AI know where to look.
  • Ask one thing at a time — Split complex questions into separate messages for clearer answers.
  • Start new conversations for new topics — this keeps the context focused and prevents the AI from mixing up unrelated information.
