Managing Conversations

Over time, you’ll accumulate conversations as you research different aspects of your project. Framework provides tools to keep them organized.

Conversation List

The Chat sidebar shows all conversations grouped by date:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • Previous 7 Days
  • Older

Click any conversation to reopen it. The full message history is preserved.

Conversation Actions

In the chat header (top of the conversation), you’ll find action buttons:

  • Export — Downloads the conversation as a plain text file. Useful for sharing AI findings with team members or archiving important answers.
  • Delete — Permanently removes the conversation and all its messages. This cannot be undone.

Context Window

Each conversation has a context window — the amount of information the AI can hold in memory at once. The token usage indicator in the chat header shows how full the context window is.

  • Below 80% — Normal operation.
  • 80–90% — A warning appears suggesting you may want to start a new conversation soon.
  • Above 90% — Critical warning. You should start a new conversation to avoid degraded responses.

When the context window gets full, click Continue in New Conversation to start a fresh conversation with a summary of the previous one carried over.

When to Start New Conversations

  • When switching to a completely different topic.
  • When the context window warning appears.
  • When you want a fresh perspective on a question.

Tip: Think of conversations like phone calls — each one should have a focused purpose. Don’t try to cover everything in one conversation.
