From Vision to Working Reality
Just over a three months ago, this was purely conceptual – a thought in my head. Today, I’m proud to announce that our MVP is not only functional with final bug fixing ongoing.
When I started development of the system, I looked at tasks that were still required people to administer that could be automated easily. The initial version of the platform features three specialized AI agents that work together as a virtual project management team:
**RFI Agent**: The first member of our AI team handles Request for Information workflows from start to finish. When a subcontractor sends an email asking “What type of flooring should be installed in the gym?”, our RFI Agent automatically extracts the question, generates an RFI number, assigns it to the appropriate team member, sets due dates, and sends professional notifications – all within minutes of receiving the email.
**Submittal Agent**: Managing submittal reviews just got exponentially easier. Our Submittal Agent coordinates multi-reviewer approval workflows, tracks version changes for resubmissions, handles attachment processing, and ensures everyone stays informed throughout the approval process. No more lost submittals or forgotten reviews.
**Query Agent**: Need to find “all open RFIs assigned to John” or “submittals overdue by more than 5 days”? Our Query Agent understands natural language requests and can instantly search across your entire project database, generate comprehensive reports, and even create executive summaries – all through simple conversation.
The Interface That Changes Everything
One of our proudest achievements is the ChatGPT-style interface that makes interacting with these AI agents feel natural and intuitive. Construction professionals can now create RFIs, check project status, and generate reports simply by typing questions like they would ask a human colleague.
The interface guides users through complex workflows with conversational ease. Instead of filling out forms or navigating multiple software platforms, project managers can type “Create an RFI about the missing electrical details on level 3” and watch as the AI agent walks them through each step, automatically populating fields and generating all necessary documentation.
Under the Hood: Sophisticated Architecture
While the user experience is refreshingly simple, the underlying technology has been fascinating to develop. Our platform employs a two-phase extraction pattern that separates data collection from decision-making, ensuring accuracy while maintaining processing speed.
The system features intelligent email processing, comprehensive audit trails, and function calling architecture that leverages LLM models to help decide when to take action. Every action is logged, every decision is traceable, and every workflow maintains complete transparency.
Perhaps most impressively, our AI agents understand construction context. They know the difference between CSI specifications, can calculate business day due dates, and recognize when an email is a response versus a new request. We’ve tailored LLM’s to take smart, meaningful actions on your construction project.

Real-World Deployment
Having worked in the industry for several years, I understand that people can be hard to move in a specific direction. As a result, I wanted this new technology to fit in with people’s existing workflows.
Projects receive dedicated email addresses (like proj_123@inbox.framework.construction), and from there, our AI handles the routing, processing, and workflow management automatically. Teams continue using their preferred tools while benefiting from AI-powered efficiency.
Our vision for the product is that it becomes platform agnostic, acting on notifications from other systems.
What’s Next?
We’re currently in the final stages of our MVP development, with plans for production deployment within the next 6-8 weeks.
Our roadmap includes enhanced communication agents with natural language understanding, proactive workflow optimization, change management automation, and eventually, full autonomous construction project management capabilities.
The future we’re building isn’t just about making existing processes faster – it’s about reimagining what’s possible when AI handles the administrative burden, freeing construction professionals to focus on what they do best: building amazing projects.
